How much does an interior designer cost in Queenstown?

At Foolish Studio, a 60-minute consultation starts at $350 + GST. Design packages start at $1,750 + GST per space for Direction and $2,600 + GST for Design. Full-Service projects start at $18,000 + GST. You'll always get a clear quote before anything starts.
Does your fee include furniture?

No. Our fees cover the design work. Furniture, décor, trades, freight and delivery are paid separately, so you can see exactly where your money goes.
Do you work outside Queenstown?

Yes. We work in person around Queenstown and Arrowtown, and remotely anywhere in New Zealand and Australia. We're also happy to travel for the right project.
Travel outside Queenstown and Arrowtown is quoted separately.
How does remote interior design work?

You send us photos, measurements and a video walkthrough of your space, using a simple checklist we provide. We work together via video call and email, and your design is delivered digitally. No need to be in the same room, or the same country.
What’s the difference between Direction and Design packages?

Direction gives you the plan: mood board, colour palette, layout and a furniture brief, and you do the shopping. Design adds final furniture, lighting and décor selections plus a ready-to-go shopping list. Start with Direction and want more help later? You can upgrade.
I'm nervous about colour. Is Foolish Studio still for me?

Absolutely. Personality looks different in every home, and bold doesn't have to mean bright. We'll push you a little, but never further than you're comfortable going.
Can you work with furniture I already own?

Yes, and we'd love to. It’s more sustainable, and the pieces with a story are usually the best things in the room. We'll work out what stays, what moves and what's missing.
How many rounds of changes are included?

Every service includes two rounds of feedback, unless otherwise quoted. Extra rounds are charged at our hourly rate.
Is the consultation fee credited if I book a package?

Yes. If you book any design package within 30 days of your consultation, the consultation fee comes off your package.
Do you design commercial spaces?

Yes. We bring the same approach to studios, cafés, shops and other small commercial spaces. Get in touch and tell us what you're working on.
